Collaborate Tutorials

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Starting Fall 2023, Zoom has taken the place of Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (Collaborate) as Camosun’s synchronous online delivery tool.

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (Collaborate) is a synchronous classroom tool with audio, video, chat, and whiteboard/desktop sharing capabilities to support your teaching in real-time (it’s Camosun’s Zoom…). Collaborate integrates with D2L, which means you can link students to your Collaborate room and sessions from inside your D2L course. You can, however, also use Collaborate without D2L by creating sessions and emailing session links to participants. For faculty or departments looking for a solution to holding meetings virtually, we recommend using Microsoft Teams – contact ITS for more information about Teams.

NOTE:  We recommend using Chrome with Collaborate, and if you are encountering audio issues, close as many programs and other browsers as you can to improve Internet connections.
